We recommend coming in the first hours of the week if you are interested. That means Wednesdays at 12pm and 1pm. The cats get adopted quickly, so the sooner you come in, the more likely you are to find that kitties are still available for adoption. We do our best to keep the website updated as much as possible as far as who is still available for adoption; but keep in mind there may be 5 applications in for 1 cat and it may not end up in your favor. We ask that you keep an open mind when adopting a rescue. With that being said, we also require every adopter to meet the cat(s) before adopting. Why? Because a relationship is built best in person. Adoption is a lifelong commitment. Please take the time to meet them all before making a decision. A cat may be very adorable and the exact color you are looking for, but their personality may not work with your home and we must consider the best environment for these cats. They all have different backgrounds and personalities, so it cannot be assumed that they will act the way you want them to.
We also ask that you note in your application the name that was used to schedule with us. That helps us track who has truly been in to meet the kitties and this helps move your application along.
The Humane Society also has a rule of 2 if you are adopting a kitten and have no other cats at home. This means that you would need to adopt 2 kittens. Why? Because they need the socialization and it helps with any possible behavioral issues. Besides, wouldn't you want a friend to help you pass the time and feel less lonely? So, any kitten that is younger than 6 months old is required to go home with a buddy or to a home that already has a cat.he Humane Society also has a rule of 2 if you are adopting a kitten and have no other cats at home. The applications are processed online, so once you have found your match, please find the application in their profile below. It may take a few days for the Humane Society to review your application, so do not assume that you can take the cat home the same day. If you are approved, we schedule pick-ups on Sunday evenings after we have closed and can arrange for a Monday morning as well if needed. Rare exceptions can be made.
